There have been occasional neighbourhood family-friendly circle dances with a multicultural focus for neighbours within walking distance of 4th & MacDonald. Usually there were about 8-12 people including kids. An art activity was provided for those who want a break from dancing. It could start up again if there were more people interested.
While this is normally a closed group due to the size and privacy of the venue and the nature of the group, on occasion we open it up to new people. If you are interested please contact Mary at firstname.lastname@example.org to let me know more about what interests you and how you expect to be able to participate in this and other neighbourhood events.
From November – February, 2016, we were supported by a Neighbourhood Small Grant from Vancouver Foundation and Kits House to do a series of gatherings from 6:30-8pm. About one hour of dancing and half an hour learning about a particular culture and festival and food.
Click “kitsilano” in the categories list for current blog posts. And if you live in the ‘hood and interested in other community arts and culture gatherings, feel free to contact me. Perhaps I’m involved with something that you would enjoy as well.
Thanks to the Vancouver Foundation’s Neighbourhood Small Grants and Kitsilano Neighbourhood House for funds to help support this project including snacks!
I’d be open to supporting a group in Kits again so if you’re interested, contact me.
