Barbara Herring will be here in BC from Ontario during early June and will be at the Unitarian Centre for two events.
Come experience the calmness, joy and reverence that Barbara Herring brings to the dance. Barbara has been a facilitator of Sacred Circle Dance groups in Canada and the USA since 1996 and during that time has been midwife to the birth of many groups in her home province, Ontario.
Barbara has developed a unique model of community co-leadership, where all dancers are welcome to share in teaching and leading the dance and has mentored many Circle Dance facilitators. She was featured in a documentary segment of the Canadian television program “Body, Mind and Spirit”.
Barbara is listed at globaldance with both Peterborough and Toronto
Barbara has choreographed many circle dances. I think of them as easy-to-learn but often with a little bit of a twist for interest.
As well as the first Tuesday evening (June 6 7 – 9 pm) open to all – she will be part of a special event just for circle dance facilitators (and experienced circle dancers who are moving into facilitation.)
Thursday, June 1 at Unitarian Centre
11:30 – 12:30: dancing together
12:30 – 1:30: potluck lunch
1:30 – 2:30: discussion–topics will include the dance-weaving-multiple-facilitators model in Ontario and also communications methods, including the group email list: how it works; when it doesn’t; etc. (send me any other topics you’d like to ask Barbara to share with us.)
2:30 – 3:30: more dancing together
Feel free to forward to other facilitators or experienced circle dancers considering leadership.
